Summer reading starts in two weeks!

The theme for this summer is “Find Your Voice” and once again, we will be using Beanstack to track how much you read.  Not familiar with Beanstack?  Let’s review.

Beanstack is a way to track your reading online.  Every time you read, you input the number of minutes you read into the app or on their website.  Every time you log 2 hours of reading, you will earn a badge.  The badges earn you tickets, which can be entered in drawings for prizes at the end of summer reading.

The reading program is open to all ages, but is split into two categories; child (0-12) and adult (13+).  You can read to your child or listen to audiobooks and count that as reading time as well.  If you have previously used Beanstack with us, your account information is the same, all you have to do is join this challenge.  If not, registering is simple.  If you need help or forget your password, visit us or give us a call!

Now onto Summer Reading 2023….

The basics:

Pre-registration for this program begins on Monday, June 12.  The Summer Reading Program runs from Monday, June 26 thru Monday, August 14.

This summer, we are inviting you to join the Bridgewater Public Library in "Find Your Voice"!  Log your reading minutes to earn badges & the chance to win prizes. For each 2 hours you read, you will receive one badge. Each badge will give you a ticket. Use tickets to enter contests.

Prizes will be drawn on August 15.  Be sure to add bwpl@sailsinc.org to your contact list so you can be notified if you are a winner. Prize winners will have 10 business days to pick up the prize before another winner is chosen.

The extras:

Every now and then, we like to throw in a couple of extras into the program.  We have previously hidden words around the library, changing them each week and having you enter them on Beanstack to earn an extra ticket.   This year we will have a new word of the week in the children's room each Monday.  Kids can enter the secret word into Beanstack and earn a ticket.

For the kids who are reading a minimum of 2 hours each week and logging their time, they will be automatically entered into a weekly drawing to win a bag full of books.  What kind of books?  It’s always a surprise, but in the past, each bag has contained anywhere from 8-12 books and we have had many happy children receive this prize.  With seven weeks of summer reading, there are many chances to win this prize.  P.S. Just because you win a weekly prize, does not mean you are ineligible to win one of the drawings at the end of the summer!

Gather your family and friends and compete to see who can read the most or collect the most badges!
