American Indian Youth Literature Award identifies and honors the very best writing and illustrations by Native Americans and Indigenous peoples of North America. 

Anthony Awards are among the most prestigious awards in the world of mystery and are awarded in six categories, including Best Young Adult Mystery. 

Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature awards titles based on their literary and artistic merit.

Audie Awards recognize distinction in audiobooks and spoken word entertainment.

Bram Stoker Awards are given “for superior achievement,” not for “best of the year,” in thirteen categories of the horror genre

Children’s Book Committee Awards (Bank Street College of Education)

  • Josette Frank Award for fiction honors outstanding literary merit in which children or young people deal in a positive and realistic way with difficulties in their world and grow emotionally and morally. 
  • Flora Stieglitz Straus Award for a distinguished work of nonfiction that serves as an inspiration to young people.
  • Claudia Lewis Award honors the best poetry book of the year.

Horn Book Awards are conferred by The Boston Globe and The Horn Book Magazine in four categories: fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and picture book

Margaret A. Edwards Award honors authors for their lifetime achievement in writing books that have been popular with teenagers. 

Mass Book Awards recognize significant works of children’s/young adult literature (among other categories) written, illustrated, or translated by current Commonwealth residents.

Michael L. Printz Award awards a book that exemplifies literary excellence in young adult literature. 

National Book Award for Young People's Literature honors the best young people’s literature (among other categories) published each year.

Odyssey Award for Excellence in Audiobook Production awarded annually to the producer of the best audiobook produced for children and/or young adults.

Pura Belpré Award is presented to a Latino/Latina writer and illustrator whose work best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latino cultural experience in an outstanding work of literature for children and youth.

Schneider Family Book Award honors an author or illustrator for a book that embodies an artistic expression of the disability experience for child and adolescent.

Stonewall Book Awards - Mike Morgan & Larry Romans Children’s & Young Adult Literature Award is presented to English language books that have exceptional merit relating to the LGBTQIA+ experience.
 


American Library Association (ALA) Lists: 

Amelia Bloomer Book List Recognizes well-written and well-illustrated books with significant feminist content, intended for young readers (ages birth through 18).

Great Graphic Novels for Teens Recommended graphic novels and illustrated nonfiction for those ages 12-18, prepared yearly by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA).
