Upcoming Adult Program World War II Infantry Soldier
On Wed., June 13, our special guest is Russell Kirby, who will be presenting a program on World War II Infantry Soldiers. The program begins at 7 p.m. Mr. Kirby, a local historian, specializes in U.S. Army infantry soldiers in the European Theatre of Operations. He is frequent lecturer at the Battleship Cove Museum in Fall River. His presentation focuses on the uniforms, weapons, equipment, food and field expediency often developed by the infantry soldiers. Many of his first person accounts of events were passed on to him from WWII infantry veterans. Several of these veterans are from Bridgewater and Raynham. Mr. Kirby has 25 years of service as a firefighter/EMT with the Bridgewater Fire Department. This free program is sponsored as part of the Friends of the Library series for adults. Parking is available in back of the library.
