Using the Internet
At the Bridgewater Public Library
The Library has 3 computers for general internet research;
2 others can be used for searching the online databases provided by SEMLS
and SAILS, which include the Boston Globe online, Elibrary, General Business
File ASAP, General Reference Center, Health Reference Center, Hoover’s Company
Capsules, SIRS Researcher, and many more.
First time users must sign the computer user agreement and
complete a brief orientation. Users
under 18 years old must have the agreement signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Children age 8 or under must be accompanied by an adult.
The Bridgewater Public Library does not monitor and has no
control over the information accessed through the Internet and cannot be held
responsible for its content. As
with other library materials, restriction of a child’s access to the Internet
is the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian.
No more than two people may use the computer at one time.
The library reserves the right to terminate service to
anyone who does not use the computer in a responsible manner.
To guarantee an appointment, computer reservations should
be made in advance in person or by phone, not more than one week in advance.
Reservations are made for one hour time periods.
Only two hours per week per person can be reserved.
These hours cannot be consecutive. If
the user fails to show up for the allotted time, the library staff may reassign
this time after waiting ten minutes. We
reserve the right to restrict patrons who fail to keep scheduled appointments.
Walk-in use is encouraged.
Time allowed on the computer will depend on the reservation schedule.
Suggested donation for the use of the printer is 10 cents
per black and white page and 30 cents per colored page.
