Aerial
Photographs of Cape Cod
Slide/lecture by
John Manchester

Jack Manchester's aerial photographs
reflect his combined interest in aviation and photography. He has been
interested in photography since boyhood, and has been a licensed pilot for over
30 years. He owns a 1950 Cessna 140A aircraft, which he flies to take all
of his aerial photographs.
Jack has been active in aerial photography
for over 20 years, specializing in Cape Cod area seascapes, and custom aerial
photographs for residential and commercial clients. He is past-president
and a current member of the Brockton Camera Club. His photographs have
been exhibited at the Brockton Public Library, Stonehill College Library and the
Bridgewater Public Library.
Jack's aerial slide presentation of Cape
Cod and the Islands has been well received at many South Shore area
organizations and libraries. He has taught photography classes at the East
Bridgewater Evening Practical Arts Program. His aerial photographs have
been published in Cape Cod Life and several other magazines.
Jack is a resident of East
Bridgewater. His presentation is funded by the Friends of the Bridgewater
Public Library.

An
Afternoon Showcase for your artistic/creative talents

Are you a Martha Stewart, Debbie Mumm or Norm Abram? The
Friends of the Bridgewater Public Library is looking for people who would like
to showcase their artistic or creative talents. In conjunction with
resources available through the Bridgewater Public Library, we would like to
create an afternoon showcase of arts and crafts, i.e. foods, soapmaking, yarn or
fabric crafts, painting, photography, woodworking, needlework, rugmaking,
scrapbooking, jewelry making, etc. , for viewing by library and community
members. If you might like to participate, please contact Jean
Guarino at 508-279-1466.
A date has not yet been set, but we are trying for a spring
event.

Memorial
gifts received
Generous donations have been made in memory of Thomas Sheibley
and Amber Sheibley, Barbara Poe' Sepp, Siegfried Karl Heinz Hahm, Katherine
Mahaney, and Audrey Scheffler. We thank those who have chosen to
remember their loved ones with a donation to the Bridgewater Public Library,
which will be used to purchase needed books and materials.
We also thank the Ousamequin Club for a recent donation to
purchase books in memory of Ruth Bishop and Ethel Barry.

Annual
Report of the Library Trustees -- 2004
This past year was filled with challenges and obstacles.
The Trustees and the staff worked diligently to provide the best possible
services to the townspeople under serious budget restrictions.
The Trustees unanimously voted to support the resolution to review the
"Patriot Act" as it has impact on the privacy rights of our patrons.
In a similar resolution, the Trustees voted to have the Fourth Amendment
to the Constitution placed on the wall in the reference area.
The Board is committed to encourage knowledge of our freedoms.
As always, I am grateful to our staff and director, and my fellow
Trustees for all their hard work and commitment to the Town of Bridgewater.
Respectfully submitted,
Judith W. Gabriel,
Chairman
